Who Needs Clothing?

Pinellas County Schools reports 104,000 students, with 46% of those students eligible for free or reduced-price lunch.
In 2016 CTK provided 10,150 school wardrobes to children in Pinellas County.  We could not do this without you! Research shows that children who go to school wearing clothes that make them feel like they fit in perform better academically than those who don't.

We want all of our kids to go to school feeling good about themselves - ready to learn!

Years Serving communities

It all started with one purple coat.

History of Clothes To Kids

Jode Eye and Marie McClung, both graduates of Clearwater High School, created Clothes To Kids out of a passion for helping children in need. The co-founders incorporated and starting collecting clothing in 2002. Their idea was to create a cheerful store environment where families and children would be treated with dignity and respect and receive school clothing free of charge.

getting started:

On June 11, 2003, the first CTK store opened in Dunedin, providing 1,200 square feet of shopping space.  They outgrew the space quickly and moved to the current Clearwater location in 2005.  The new 5,000 square foot store was made possible with generous donations from individuals and businesses in the community who joined the CTK Builder's Club.  Macy's stepped forward and helped perfect Jode and Marie's vision of the "department store" look and feel.

our growth over the years:

In December 2009 a second CTK store opened in  St. Petersburg.  This made clothing more accessible to families in South County.
Clothes To Kids has distributed more than 128,000 wardrobes to school children in Pinellas County!
